My uncle pays £21 a month, and gets 10 Mbit/s broadband (yeah, and
it's actually that fast!), free local calling, and free calling to
Canada, the US and a whole bunch of other providers.

That's ~$40 a month. For broadband, voice, and all of it.

Wow.
